The C&A SIBR Program
The SIBR (Sexually Inappropriate Remediation) Program which helps children and
adolescents with sexual behavior problems learn healthy modes of communicating
and engaging with others so that they and others can be safe and grow in the
community. The SIBR Program is a State of Ohio Department of Youth Services
Certified Program.

Population Served:
Children and adolescents
identified by formal investigation or formal or informal court involvement, with
sexual behavior problems.
Services Offered:
Services offered in the SIBR Program are research based and best practices.

Comprehensive risk assessment
·
12-18 month treatment program, including group, individual and family therapy,
for adolescents who are formally or informally court ordered into therapy to
extinguish sexually inappropriate behaviors.
These youth must be between the ages of 13 and 18.
·
Sexual Behavior Assessment for children 8 to 12 years old.
·
School-based consultation and education services regarding issues such as sexual
harassment and healthy relationships.
·
A Healthy Sexuality Group for children referred for behaviors which are not
necessarily adjudicable sex offenses, but who have engaged in intrusive,
boundary violating behaviors.

The Goals of Treatment:

Eliminating inappropriate sexual behaviors
·
Increasing effective/appropriate communication, social and problem solving
skills
·
Increasing moral/conscience reasoning
·
Sex/relationship education
·
Learning and using stress inoculation techniques
·
Learn about and reduce thinking distortions
·
Understand factors contributing to his offense and detours to avoid future
offending behavior, both sexual and non-sexual
·
Understand and decrease client’s own trauma symptoms
·
Increase empathy
The SIBR Program mission is to provide humane, strength based and research based
treatment designed to increase positive and healthy functioning at school, the
youth’s social arena, home and community, and eliminate sexually inappropriate
behavior.
